Young Adult Advisory Board

The Young Adult Advisory Board (YAAB) is a group of volunteers, ages 13-24, who are dedicated to raising awareness of and putting an end to dating and domestic violence here in Bucks County. Throughout the year, YAAB plans various awareness campaigns and fundraising events, including AWP's annual Dance Marathon in February in honor of Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month and our annual Walk to Empower 5K Run and 1-mile Fun Walk in October to commemorate Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

We Danced!

On Saturday, February 16, 2013 local teens took to the dance floor from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., at the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company Banquet Hall (5064 Stump Road, Plumsteadville, PA 18949) to raise awareness of teen dating violence and raise funds for A Woman's Place (AWP), the only domestic violence community benefit organization in Bucks County, PA. The event was filled with music and activities, such as Zumba, Bokwa, and even the ONE BILLION RISING dance.

We Walked!

A Woman’s Place (AWP) and the Young Adult Advisory Board (YAAB) would like to thank ALL who helped us in making strides to end teen dating violence at the 3rd annual Walk to Empower. This event, which included a professionally timed 5K race on a certified course and a one mile Fun Walk, took place on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Central Park on Wells Road in Doylestown. The event also included refreshments, entertainment, and an awards ceremony.
