| Bucks County Community Celebrates 13th Annual Chocolate Lovers’ Fantasy
Nearly 300 Bucks County community members turned out to eat dessert first and support A Woman’s Place (AWP), the only domestic violence agency in Bucks County, during the 13th annual Chocolate Lovers’ Fantasy, held Saturday, Feb. 9, in historic Tyler Hall on the campus of Bucks County Community College.
Always the must-savor event of the season, this year’s Chocolate Lovers’ Fantasy greeted revelers with black and pink velvet covered tables holding 50 feet of the best chocolate-themed desserts this side of Wonkaland. In between bites, chocolate lovers had plenty of time to enjoy food, fun, and dancing, bid on the dazzling silent and live auctions, and enter for a chance to win the evening’s raffle, a resort trip courtesy of CheapCarribbean.com. All proceeds from the event benefit AWP.
“We moved our start time up a little this year, giving folks plenty of time to ‘eat dessert first’ with us before heading out for their Saturday night,” said Donna J. Byrne, AWP executive director. “This event is a lot of fun, but also is a vital stream of community support for victims of domestic abuse and violence in Bucks County.”
Through the years, the Chocolate Lovers’ Fantasy has grown into a true community celebration, with dedicated volunteers helping organize the event and generous contributions from area individuals, organizations, and companies helping make the night a success. This year’s event helped raised nearly $60,000 for AWP and the ongoing work to end domestic abuse and violence in Bucks County.
