VOLUNTEER CHATLINE ADVOCATE
Volunteer Chatline Advocates work within AWP’s Individual Advocacy Department, taking action in response to a single person’s situation with a focus on changing the condition of that individual’s life to enable them to be safe and flourish. Volunteer Chatline Advocates cover AWP’s online chatline in shifts during hours that the chatline is available. Volunteer Chatline Advocates communicate with victims, their family members or friends who are concerned about them, and young adults in the community who have questions about dating violence. Volunteer Chatline Advocates can answer the chatline from their home via the internet and are provided with comprehensive resource manuals and on-call staff support. In addition to direct service training, process and procedure training and continuing skills development are required and provided.

VOLUNTEER CHILDREN’S ADVOCATE
Volunteer Children’s Advocates work within AWP’s Individual Advocacy Department, taking action in response to a single child’s situation with a focus on changing the condition of that child’s life to enable them to be safe and flourish. Volunteer Children’s Advocates provide structured and free play time for children residing in AWP’s confidentially-located emergency shelter or throughout Bucks County. Volunteer Children’s Advocates must enjoy and engage easily with children, be comfortable working in a busy and sometimes chaotic environment, and understand the dynamics of domestic violence and the impact on children. In addition to direct service training, process and procedure training and continuing skills development are required and provided.

VOLUNTEER COMMUNICATIONS ADVOCATE
Volunteer Communications Advocates work within AWP’s Public Advocacy Department, utilizing communications strategies to engage the public in achieving social change so all individuals are safe and can flourish as a result of empowering women and ending domestic violence. Volunteer Communications Advocates are creative, efficient, and organized with a solid understanding of social media, strong writing and editing skills, and attention to detail. Volunteer Communications Advocates monitor trends, analyze communications metrics, and have a sense of humor.

VOLUNTEER COUNSELING ADVOCATE
Volunteer Counseling Advocates work within AWP’s Individual Advocacy Department, taking action in response to a single person’s situation with a focus on changing the condition of that individual’s life to enable them to be safe and flourish. Volunteer Counseling Advocates deliver AWP counseling services to victims of domestic violence including support group facilitation, transportation assistance, shelter facilities maintenance, individual advocacy, child care and activities, and donation acceptance assistance. Volunteer Counseling Advocates, depending on need, can work within AWP’s confidentially-located emergency shelter or throughout the Bucks County community. In addition to direct service training, process and procedure training and continuing skills development are required and provided.

VOLUNTEER THRIFT STORE SALES ASSOCIATE
Volunteer Thrift Store Sales Associates work within AWP’s Public Advocacy Department, utilizing revenue generating strategies to engage the public in financially investing in AWP and achieving social change so all individuals are safe and can flourish as a result of empowering women and ending domestic violence. Volunteer Thrift Store Sales Associates have excellent customer service skills and work well within a team environment. Volunteer Thrift Store Sales Associates receive donations, sort stock, arrange displays, provide sales assistance, and make sales. Comfort with diverse populations and excellent manners a must.

VOLUNTEER FUNDRAISING ADVOCATE
Volunteer Fundraising Advocates work within AWP’s Public Advocacy Department, utilizing fundraising strategies to engage the public in financially investing in AWP and achieving social change so all individuals are safe and can flourish as a result of empowering women and ending domestic violence. Volunteer Fundraising Advocates have strong oral and written communication skills, profoundly value relationship building on behalf of AWP, and are able to work both independently and in a team environment. Some comfort or interest in soliciting monetary and in-kind donations is beneficial, although not required.

VOLUNTEER HOTLINE ADVOCATES
Volunteer Hotline Advocates work within AWP’s Individual Advocacy Department, taking action in response to a single person’s situation with a focus on changing the condition of that individual’s life to enable them to be safe and flourish. Volunteer Hotline Advocates cover AWP’s 24-hour, toll free domestic violence hotline in shifts throughout the day and night. Volunteer Hotline Advocates take calls from victims, their family members or friends who are concerned about them, and service agencies looking for referrals and supportive services for their clients. Volunteer Hotline Advocates can answer the hotline from their home or AWP’s confidentially-located emergency shelter and are provided with comprehensive resource manuals and on-call staff support. In addition to direct service training, process and procedure training and continuing skills development are required and provided.

VOLUNTEER PUBLIC ADVOCACY ADVOCATE
Volunteer Public Advocacy Advocates work within AWP’s Public Advocacy Department, engaging the public in achieving social change so all individuals are safe and can flourish as a result of empowering women and ending domestic violence. Volunteer Public Advocacy Advocates have excellent attention to detail, appreciation for the importance of administrative tasks, and strong organizational and time management skills with ability to multi-task. Volunteer Public Advocacy Advocates are comfortable using computers, have knowledge of Microsoft applications, and are interested in learning needed database skills.
